Jewel Tree

Approaching the age-old question once again:  what to do with my excessive number of old brooches. The nice thing about this lamp solution is that it solves some storage issues.  I'm sure the lamp will grow increasingly obese with bling.  Also, I can pick the brooches off as I see fit, in case I should have the desire to well, look like my lamp.

Great idea! How did you fix the brooches to the lamp? Glued them on?

Stella- Actually, I wired them on! Since they already have pin clasps on the back, it was fairly easy to affix them on wire, wrapped around the lamp.

Ahh, to "grow obese with bling" !!! This is so creative and reminds me of a Holiday wreath someone created entirely with brooches. It was stunning.

And I think that I'm in love with that star/urchin brooch of yours! Perfection. x

this is a great idea! i went a little overboard in the past year with buying every cameo i could get my hands on at flea markets and have no idea what to do with them as they're basically antithetical to everything i wear... could work very nicely on one of the lamps or candlesticks in my apartment though, very cool.

Am I crazy for thinking these pictures look like sea creatures? Like the lamp was abandoned on a shipwreck somewhere and the jewels just kind of grew over it. I love it!

Fucking gorgeous. Totally jealous, wish I had an equally expansive collection of dazzling brooches. Where do you find them all?!
